Does the Corsa have seperate warning lights for oil pressure and oil level? I know some Vauxhalls of that era do. If so are you sure it's the level light, not the pressure?

Paul, I`m familiar with reading about the engine on the Fiat Forum and I own one.
Never heard of this. What`s the mileage and the service history/intervals? Is it on a fill of high mileage- ready for a change- 5w30?
You can never discount some that don`t bother to check oil levels at all and not unknown for them to run them dry. Any knocks or smoke?
Why don`t you get them to put an pressure gauge onto it and see if its genuine (mechanical) low oil pressure?
I think there`s a Vauxhall tech on here, so you are likely to get a much more informed response than mine..
Hope you get it sorted

there is a known issue with the oil light flashing, first thing is to top up to max on dipstick then add 200ml ONLY, or there is modified software from the dealer to delete the indication of low oil level which is basically what you are getting with the oil light flashing, there is another way which is a modfied dipstick from Engine-Breakpoint: Z13DT505177.IMPORTANT THING is NOT to over fill with oil as damage can occur, dealer should have known/investigated these things for you, but are chargeable, there is a field remedy number which is FR1676 won't mean much to you but the dealer should be able to deal with it
