2002 1.8 stuck seat belt + seat - Gee
Hi, am wondering if anyone can help? My rear middle seat is stuck in the down position due to the seat belt which wont budge!!

We've tried taking the back off the seat but special tools are required to get to the mechanism and I don't know whether to invest in the tools or just take it in to a dealer???

Any thoughts out there??

Hello.

Move the back seat as if you will fold it down to carry something large.

Slam it back as hard as possible and the seatbelt should release.

Just re read your post.

Get a block of wood and a small hammer and tap the block of wood over the seatbelt cover.

do not hit it too hard you may do damage.

hi have tried hitting it and sitting on it - will give it another try in a mo, but feel will have to take it in ) - : seems ridiculous.

Had folded the seat forward to take some things to the tip so had already been pushed down pretty far.

Even went over some bumpy roads in the hope it would release itself.

Crazy.

Not sure what you mean by middle seat, there is a left and right seat back?

The middle seat belt will not operate unless the left hand (near side) seat back is located properly, if you can try slamming this back.
