My Vectra B saloon is over 9 years old - one of the early facelifts. Paint is lifted & rusty metal laminated around both rear wheel arches, quite badly and the paint is soon to come away on one side.
Shame as it is a dear old thing that serves well & I have had a very long time. I do not plan to change it yet (it is worthless anyway) but it will soon look unsightly.
However I have had it dealer serviced and stamped up as it should be, and this car came with a 10 year rust (perforation?) warranty.
Rumour has that the rot is from within, ie rather than from paint broken on turned in edge of wheel arch.
I am about to go & see body shop manager of local dealer for a chat. Anyone any tips / advice?

If it has full Vaux history and is perforated they should cover it.

Are you sure it's not 6 year? Even HJ's CBCB suggests that it is. The reason I ask is that AFAIA there was only one Vauxhall with a 12 yr perforation warranty (that being the early Astra-Gs, 98-00) but was later reduced to 6 yrs like the rest of the Vauxhall range.
(EDIT - re: 12 yr perforation warranty, Also the Corsa-C & early Vectra-C's)

Yes - happy to say a 10 year perforation warranty. Maybe one of VX's latter.

Pretty sure my Vectra (yr 2000) only had a 6 year perforantion warranty.

Well aren't I lucky??
Just had a very polite call from dealer - they have consulted with Vauxhall and YES they will repair arches under warranty. (Car has all the proper stamps in service book despite is advancing years!)
The Vectra B facelift came with 10 yr anti-corrosion warranty for a short time ('99 I think?).
Car booked in for Monday.
So - in my book - well done dealer and well done Vauxhall. Good to get a warm feeling! I will very likely buy another Vauxhall soon when I replace "2nd" car. I may even go to that garage too (named after a British City & a Street) despite no particular loyalty.

Just realised I have a load of service laminates copied from a Vauxhall dealer that someone posted on another forum.
Anti perforation warranty:
From 1996 to 1998 = 6 yrs from 1st registration.
From 1999 = 10 yrs from 1st registration.
From Oct 2000 = 6 yrs from 1st registration.
That, and more info here:

Just collected my car after Bristol Street have repainted the wheelarches (actually the rear quarters) as above. It all looks really good, with good colour & finish match, fresh & tidy around the edges & in door shuts etc.
The car was ready as promised & add to that the loan car was clean & fresh.
So I reckon full marks to Vauxhall for honouring warranty and also to dealer for service they have provided.
I thought I would post conclusion of this as I think it is, unusually, a happy saga. Experiences like this may even encourage me to by another Vauxhall.

Great to hear of such a positive result. As a Cavalier owner who has watched many a Mk3's rear arches rust away, always worth regularly hosing out the dirt inside the arch lip and applying a good dose of Waxoly by brush into that area ..... once your nice new paint has hardened fully of course!

I have a small spot of rust at the rear of one of my wheelarches on a '99 Vectra. However, it's the side where somebody rear-ended me, so I always imagined it wasn't the car's fault. In any event, it hasn't seen a dealer in years.
