Missing part of service history - will it devalue my car?
I have just bought a 3 year old Toyota Land Cruiser and on inspection I noticed the service book was missing. The sales department advised they had ordered a replacement and had sent it away to have it stamped from the original dealer and are still trying to locate the original.
They also advised me the full history is available digitally from "my Toyota" which stores all the work that's ever been done to the car, the book has now arrived back to me but unfortunately hasn't been stamped fully.
So in this scenario I have access to the service history but I don't have the original documentation to go with it, will this de-value the car? Should I push the dealer to get the book stamped and reject it if they don't?

If it hasn't been stamped fully that is probably because the "my Toyota" central record is not complete because it has not been serviced properly, and that issue needs to be addressed. It could well be that the reason why the book was missing is that the service record was not complete and on a vehicle like a 3 year old Land Cruiser, in my opinion that devalues the vehicle by at least £2000.
