hi , ive a slight leak from a hairline crack just on the water level line on the coolant tank , and i,m finding it hard to get anything to stick to this type of plastic that will cope with the heat and presure tried hot melt glue .. areldite ..superglue can anyone recomend something that will cope ..... cheers.

You could try a plastic cement such as polystyrene cement used for Airfix modelling or the stuff used on drainpipes. Either may or may not melt the plastic enough to seal the crack. You could even layer it with carriers bags!

Can you recall if this sorted the problem at all once swapped? I mean it didn't split because of any undue pressure like a head gasket for exanple? I appear to have the exact same problem on my wifes 03 fiesta. Thanks
