1997 1.7dt Radiator Fan - jwkn
I have been having problems with the engine running a little hot.I know the fan temp switch has gone because the previous owner has fitted a manual switch inside the car to turn on/off the fan.I have found that normal day running if i keep the car heater on and heater fan on number 2 the engine temp will stay midway on temp gauge, but as soon as i turn off car heater the engine temp will start to rise up towards 100oC where i can turn the fan on manually.Any suggestions please.

Make sure your thermostat is not sticking usually just replace and then fit the obvious radiator fan switch back up so it works as it should.

In normal driving, you shouldn't need the fan at all; you have an overheating problem that needs finding.
