....is it coming to a road near you and soon?

Lets hope these "wizards" do not get their brain in gear and do the obvious.
i.e. for all central reservation sites, paint the reference lines on the road both directions and put a simple cover over the camera so you cannot see which way it is aimed.

All on 1 pole - very discreet.
I thought the daddy was the new set-up on the A3 southbound just before the Robin Hood junction. 3 poles all in close proximity with one box facing towards drivers, the other 2 facing towards the rear of the car. They bring a whole new meaning to 'urban furniture clutter'! The arrangement includes ANPR and they're still under trial, apparently.

Has anyone actually seen one at all?
I contacted Snooper today and they tell me they are out there on trial but because they are not live units (yet...) they are not on any mapping/alert system as of yet.

...and 2 lots of markings, one each side of the camera, yes? If so, it's the same as on the A24 about half a mile south of the Buck Barn A272 junction. This was reported in the local press as being a trial installation new type of camera, apparently called Robot.
TBH I don't have much a problem with it; it is just before the junction with the B2135 which is pretty dicey in terms of lines of sight etc, and has greatly increased compliance with the eminently sensible 60 limit on this stretch, which before was almost universally ignored.
