54 1.6 HDI Fuel Cap Sensor-Anti Pollution - bobf123
Hi Guys,

Couple days ago I had an "Anti Pollution" message in my 54 reg car. Since then my friend has read OBD codes which were P2408-Fuel Cap Sensor and P0405 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit Low. Does any one know what do I have to do in order to fix these problems (apart from going to a dealer)? Or at least where the above can be located?

Thanks,

Bob

You car must be the FAP-equipped version. One of the magnets on the filler cap has probably fallen off, or the fuel-cap sensor itself has failed. [They do.] That disables the additive-dosing system; so get it fixed ASAP, or the FAP will block and then you'll need a new one.

The other code refers to the EGR valve position sensor; that one will need checking manually and in live-data, as it could be a stuck valve, wiring, or a cooked sensor.

i have a similar issue on my 2005 307 1.6 HDi 110bhp.

Can the magnets on the cap be visually checked?
