1996 2.5v6 Crankshaft sensor bosch part number 026 - Ian J
I have a faulty crankshaft sensor with a Bosch part number 0261210131. Can anyone advise the equivalent vauxhall part number.
Vauxhall dealership is not clear on the issue, indicating that they have always had trouble identifying the correct sensor. Electrical socket is rectangular with rounded ends, with a lug/box on bottom of the broad face of the plug with a sloping ramp on top broad face to latch on to receiving plug . Narrow side faces have protruding narrow rectangular lugs which run along the whole length of the narrow faces of the plug. At the sensor end there are two triangular buttresses either side of the hole used for the torx locating bolt.
From looking at diagramms provided by dealership the closest fit is vauxhall part number 90540743. This is for 2.6/3.0 litre v6 mine is a 2.5v6. I have owned car fron new and believe the crankshaft sensor installed was installed at build, certainly it has been running happily on the car for 70000 miles.

As previously posted,I am not sure why there should be a problem at vauxhall dealers..All the sensors for these v6 engines are the same apart from the 3-pin plug.I can try and cross ref the Bosch # tomorrow.hth
