First of all is it easy to run my 1.8 td mondeo on veggy oil/bio diesel and what type of mix.Also is it legal or do you have to pay duty on it, with the environmental issues and rise in price i thought it should be considered as an alternative.

The answer depends what type of injection pump you have (Bosch or Lucas?).

Definitely not if you have the Lucas system. This is easiest identified by the fuel filter which is hung off the right hand side of the cylinder head (as you look at it from in front of the car), and has a circular black primer button on top.

This is the most common system by far on the Mondeo TD, and is not compatible with veg oil. The pump struggles to deal with the thicker veg oil, and is notorious for shearing its rotor head after quite a short time.

If you have the Bosch system, I believe this is more suitable.
