97 2.8 starting problem - alibar71
Our 7 series has an ongoing problem. When you go to start the car, you get no red lights on dash or fuel pump whurr. It only starts off a jump, but when you turn it off after a short or long run it refuses to start. Also when the engine is running there is a clicking from behind the air vents above the stereo every so often. We've checked the battery and thats fine so dont know where to go from here. Any ideas would be very helpful, TIA

So it starts with jump-leads - but the battery is fine?? Really?

How have you "checked the battery?"

Because its on a brand new battery which was returned to shop & checked twice & was deemed fully charged
