Hi
I wonder if anyone can help, I have a 54 plate Peugeot 307 1.4 Zest and it has just been in for the safety recall, however we picked up an oil leak before hand which we asked them to check out and have now been told that it is originating from the head gasket, and a price for repair quoted as £700.00, can anyone tell me if I have a leg to stand on with Peugeot as the car is now 3 and a half years old?
Thanks very much for any help

Assuming that you didn't report this inside the warranty period, Peugeot have no legal obligation.
If the car has a full dealer history, your best bet is to write to Peugeot customer services and ask them to make a contribution. Don't slag off the car, just say how disappointed you are, and how it has tainted your view of Peugeot products blah blah blah.
Otherwise, you'll have to pay up, but if this is the case, find a good independent garage rather than a Peugeot dealer. In my experience with Peugeot dealers, I wouldn't trust them to do a service correctly, never mind change a head gasket, and certainly wouldn't use them if I was paying!
Cheers
