I am about to carry out an oil change, whilst I can find the drain plug, the oil filter is not too obvious.
Can anyone point me in the right direction and precise location.

Engines and filters have moved on from what you expect to see and before you enter that minefield, might I suggest you acquire one of Mr Haynes' excellent publications.

Its on the front of the engine, when you get the replacement you'll find that all you get is the internals and a sealing ring. There's a plastic housing with a large "nut" on the bottom of it. Unscrew this and remove the old paper element. Fit the new one making sure that its moving properly on the non return valve that is part of the housing.
