If you can't get the exact part try pirtek they make hoses for small-extremely large industrial applications, hydraulic suppliers.
Or a specialist rover dealer have you done a google search for a breakers etc?

I did mention on one of your various threads on this car [perhaps a kindly passing mod would put them together] that Rover parts are getting scarce now.
I wouldn't hold out a lot of hope for a second-hand pair as they all rot and may be no better than yours once removed. [Unless you can find the one that had the last available pair.]

Try Honda dealer, Civic? I think? in the same year. Parts should be the same or very similar enough not to make a difference.
Very little difference between the Honda and the Rover mechanically. Nearly all differences were bodywork and cosmetics.
|
I'd agree with that, there was a Civic 5 Door 1.6 LS (115BHP IIRC) Automatic from 1995 that should be mechanically identical. I've found Honda parts for their older vehicles to be very reasonable compared with those from a breakers yard.

try rimmer bros in lincolnshire 01522 568000 rover parts specialist.

Or get some 8 or 10 mm copper gas pipe & run in front of the rad in a coil & join to the rubber hoses on the gear box. If you want to make a long coil wrap the pipe around a cylinder. Dont let it rub against the fins of the rad. Works a treat.

Thanks all forI the help and advice , I am clueless when it comes to cars thats why I come here *sigh* . I am going to work on all the leads I have been given here. Screwloose I appreciate and took note of what you said but crying over spilt milk is not an art I have acquired .

Hi could you given me the correct term for the part in question my mechanic only told me what the hoses do .
|
|
If it's the original shaped 400 up to N reg (the 200 with a boot), it's the Honda Concerto that was mechanically identical:

AFAIK all mechancial parts are interchangeable between 1.6 models. The difference was in trimming and finishing (and the use of the Rover instead of Honda engines for the lower models).
Cheers

Hi I have been looking for a part for my Rover 416 sli auto 1995 N reg.
My mechanic has left it to me to find the part as I thought spending over £30 a throw for a hose would be too much money . Anyway he said what I need is the oil cooler hose ( this connects the gearbox to the radiator and supposed to come in a pair ) Well I found this on ebay and dont know if its the same thing , if it is the same thing I will order it so that I can get my car fix by friday. Also it seems as if its one in a pack would I have to buy two of these if they are correct.

If no answer here try 'ask seller a question' - usually works, just repeat what you've told us.
|
Hi I asked the seller and here is the response :
Hi Rover do not have a diagram on their parts cd for this set up but there are two pipes listed both with different numbers . It is for the auto transmission for the MK1 range. Other than that I have no further detail .
|
For £7 I would give it a whirl.
|
frankly I'd agree with previous advice and take the old bits to Pirtek and I'm pretty sure they'll fix you up. Certainly did for me when the steel section of the pipe from the Pug 505 auto box to cooler sprang a leak. Replaced the whole lot in hydraulic reinforced rubber hose, so much easier to fit too.

Hi I have a 416sli 1995 (for the umpteenth time INCLUDE this info in the subject header as per the sticky requests and prompt that is under the subject header when you composed this question! Gees, give me strength.) 1600 auto rover and need a radiator and tranmission pipes .
I have been have difficulty getting some these parts for the car . recently I received this printout from Rover .
----------------------------------------------------------------------
----------
*200/400(XW)>>Rover 200 3/5 door & 400 4 door series (Oct 92 Vin 605482 to Feb)>>cooling heating and Air conditiong>> Radiatior)*
Now does this mean that any 200/400 series with Vin 605482 part would be ok to fit into the car I am trying to fix( its 416) ?.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------
Anyway this guy on ebay is breaking a 216 1995 auto Rover 1600 would the parts I am after fit into my car if I buy from him?
(as well as the note I made above, moved to the previous discussion as related)

If you've got a haynes manual check to see if you've got a honda engine, i've got a rover 216 coupe 1600i sohc and found that honda do all the parts i need ecxept it has a different body than the 400 series cars so you won't be able to interchange those parts with other rovers if you've got a rover k series engine i suggest you get rid cos they are renowned for the head gasket going and in the long run will cost too much money to keep getting fixed
|
Hi I have got a honda engine. How would I go about finding the correct parts .
|
Have you tried calling xpart, Rimmer Brothers or Brown and Gammons?
If they dont have it in stock, which I would be surprised, they will be very helpful and point you in the right direction. No harm in a couple of calls to see.
Rimmer Brothers will probably be your best bet as they deal with older stuff as well
|
yup tried Rimmer bros but not Brown and Gammons will do tomorrow though thanks for the tip .

I have some from a 216 SOHC GSi, if you haven't found any yet.
