Hiya, friend has the above C Max and car wouldn't start. She suspected flat battery so tried jump starting it off other car but smoke appeared so she stopped and called AA.
AA realised that she had connected jump leads up the wrong way round and a fuse had blown.
He got car started OK but suggested it goes straight to a garage to make sure nothing has been damaged due to connecting the leads up incorrectly.
Car is at her indie she uses but can't look at it until Monday.
What sort of damage, if any, will have been done?

hopefully none as the fuse that popped should have protected the wiring , however , i would still get it checked out as a fire would obviously be bad news , and if the insurance company found out that the AA had already attended .................... , im sure you can work the rest out :(

Cheers for that assurance Paul, any other takers?
I would assume that is why the fuse is there to protect everything else!

Personally if everything is working okay then I wouldn't worry about it. There is very little that the garage can check with regards to it being attempted to jump start it the wrong way round. An unneccessary expense in my opinion.
