LEZ Question on American Pick up - Pugugly {P}
I keep on SORN a 1986 USA Ford pick up with a 6.9 diesel engine , parked off -road in North London. I read that the LEZ ( Low Emissions Zone ) will hit all large old diesels with something mad like a £200 daily ' tax ' . This vehicle is a PLG with a shown gross weight of 2900 kgs, so below small trucks starting at 3500 kgs . I only use it twice a month between May and about November - apart from registering this left hooker on foreign plates , what can I do - will this ludicrous Ken charge apply to this vehicle ??

Split from a Question posted in Tech. Not my question belongs to motorprop will correct that once I can access the admin site.

LEZ Question on American Pick up - Bromptonaut
There's a Q&A and a vehicle specific compliance check on the TFL website: -
www.tfl.gov.uk/roadusers/lez/default.aspx

OTOH it seems exactly the sort of vehicle a low emission zone should be challenging. Why keep it if the utilisation is so low? Oh, and Ken says he's going as far out of his way as he can to enforce against vehicles on foreign plates.
