do speed cameras still have to have the warning signs on the approach , i went past one today ( it was all grey and hard to notice until i was basically level with it) and i didnt see any camera warning signs as i approached, in fact there arent any cause i went by again to check, IIRC from speed awareness course the chap running it said they have to provide camera warning signs AND the speed limit on the particular road concerned displayed on the run up to the scamera is that still the case or have i been had?

No statutory obligation to have speed camera warning signs on approach.
True there was a an obligation to have the camera boxes painted yellow but HMG have since decreed that this is no longer necesssry and can blend into the background colour.

yep.... didnt want the 3 points , still had to pay the £60 tho, oh and by the way there were 4 men and 16 women the day i went and we had all been caught doing 36 in a 30

How long does it take, actually, to teach people to make a rough assessment of their speed by eye and confirm it with an occasional glance at the speedometer? I have often wondered milkyjoe.
Six hours? Three days?
Sounds like a genteel form of imprisonment to me, in the case anyway of hoary old motorists like ourselves.

We have a saint on the forum! If not a saint, then certainly holier than most of us :-)
