Cause: Dirt in fuel pressure regulator on rear of H.P fuel Pump.
Repair: Remove main engine cover Plastic.
On rear of pump you will see a round unit with a multiplug on it with a terminal plug.
Remove the 2 torque Bolts, and slowly pull out the regulator (reg) check "O"rings are not split,
if there are you can get these from Local Lucas Deisel Centre's and no need to replace the complete unit. Clean any dirt of this + any dirt in pump area. refit Reg Unit.
Once you have done this you will need to bleed them. Undo a injector Pipe Union and crank over the engine to get all the air out of the common rail.
Tighten up union and run engine, if it wont rev up just keep accelerator to the floor this will help get the air out of the system.
Once you have done this ,best thing is to replace you Fuel Filter!!!
My fault happen when is started Using Bio_Diesel whic was to strong on plastic Tanks + pipes, Caused A Plastic jel substance.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to include the very necessary common-rail safety instructions in "how-to" posts like that?
If contaminants have by-passed the filter and reached the regulator; [how?] wouldn't the HP pump be contaminated too.

Good info, but I wonder how likely this is to occur if not using bio-diesel and incurring the "plastic gel"?
Also, as Screwloose says, disturbing anything on the high pressure side of a common rail diesel fuel system is not something to be done without a thorough understanding of the risks involved.
Cheers
