'03. 2.0 90HDI Make and Part numbers. - autumnboy

Anyone know if the Citroen/Peugeot 2.0 90HDI 2003 ECU is a BOSCH Model No. EDC15C2 or different.

Could also be a Siemens SID 801 on an RHY[?] on that year. They fitted both. And two completely different ECU plug layouts too.

EDC15C2 is only the generic system type; it's fitted on many different common-rail engines.

The ECU's programming needs to be specific to one version of the HDi - and there will even be different software versions of that.

Why do you need to know?

Curious.

Been browsing on Ebay and seen ECU remapping software, they only list the 110hp version and not the 90hp.

Wondered why one and not the other.

Maybe it's because the 90 hasn't got an intercooler on some cars.

E-bay "maps" are a good source of work for repairers; maybe we should pay them a commission.

If you must chip it; find a reputable[?] chipper that you can sue when it all goes - horribly - wrong.

It's in the plastic box between the battery and the L/H wing.

Checked today. Could not find a Manufacturer label on the ECU only a label with No's. But the pump is Siemens, so I expect the ECU to be the same.

So does that mean that the ECU cannot be remapped in the same way as Bosch by the remappers you see advertised. ???

That is something that you'll have to ask them.

My experience of most "tuning file" purveyors is that they are long on bullshine and short on even the basic knowledge of what they're messing up.

A friend of a friend tells me the Model No. for the Siemens ECU for the 307 is SID881.

Is this correct ??

Friends of friends are rarely wrong; but I still make it an SID 801.

Today I took out the ECU and made notes of the Numbers etc.

It is a Siemens SID 881.
