Just been out for quick trip into Marlow, I have passed four cars with large yellow clamps with DVLA on them and a large yellow UNTAXED sticker on the windscreen. Can't think it's DVLA doing it directly but someone's doing some proactive enforcement.

up here in lancashire we have white transit type vans vith dvla logo,s on them , they are fitted with cameras on all 4 corners of the roof, they travel around all day going down terraced streets and clamping cars,
also have astra type vans parked up with tripod cammeras and the words "anpr" written on the back , usually there is a police car/bike parked up 200 yds up the road,
strange one is an astra type van parked in centre resevation late evenings ,with a roof camera ,(but no markings) and a police bike in front , with no rider
that one is probley to spot known crims/drug dealers coming into town , with a police guard

sorry i"m from yorkshire so your weird lancashire ways are unknown to me :-)
why would crims coming into your town have a police guard?
|
can tell you are a yorkshireman????
i mean,t that the person , in the unmarked ANPR type van , (at nighttime) probably needed a police officer to hold his hand !!!!
although i dought if a single officer , could do much in the case of 5 "drugged up" scumbags , prob carrying weapons , dicide to see what an astra looks like on its roof!!!

Its contracted out to a firm (They are a large car parking concern - not NCP) and I cannot fo the life of me remember the name. I will in a minute. Seen them in action very effective and efficient.
Ah typical just remembered VinciPark....!

They certainly have been busy - too busy to exercise due diligence... See my thread here:

Hmmm...you've obviously not used any drugs, freddy.
I can assure you that, if you're "drugged up", the last thing you feel like doing is turning an Astra onto its roof.

I saw A DVLA clamp (for the first time) on a car in Wimbledon.
I approve of their action. :-)
