Unpaid road tax - explain this. - daveyjp
Van parked near us, tax expired end of April. About a month ago sticker on van stating it was untaxed, expect a fine. Two weeks later van is clamped. Eaarly last week van had gone. Late last week van returns, but tax still says expiry end April 07. Get home tonight and van is clamped again! I thought you had to pay all back tax to get the vehicle back.

van might be taxed all along:
- but owner hasn't put tax disc in window yet
- newer disc was nicked and owner hasn't received replacement yet

and over zealous official has put enforceement notice, then clamp on for non display offence rather than non tax offence

According to DVLA vehicle unlicensed - see how long it is before it is removed again!
