Symptoms you may notice would be erratic proggression off the throttle during light acceleration where the car may feel like the power is coming & going but normally only noticed if your a sensative driver & the sensor is switching slowly. Fuel consumption if it has increased, a smelly cat ( egg smell) or engine warning light on!.
A good diagnostic tech can check it out in minuets by checking live data info so if you think somthings wrong get it check by a pro.
1.8 audis are prone to Airflow meters & ign faults with coil packs or plugs & they must run on the recommended oil

When my Lambda went on an Almera, I got the engine management light on, hesitant throttle response and very high fuel consumption (the exhaust smelt strongly of petrol).
