02 Noisy Suspension - Keith Walters
New car 2k since purchased in Feb 2002. Ok except the following.
At speeds of 30 to 40 mph over ridges and trenches in road I hear a dong type noise from the rear end of car.
2 dealers have checked it over and cannot identify source.
They have only checked hatch, rear seats, spare wheel.
I suspect possible fuel tank, loose or baffles inside it or fuel float?
Possible noisy shocks, bushes on rear suspension or anti roll bars on car have so far been dismissed by dealers.
They advise drive car for few more miles to see if develops.
Any one else similar experiences?

Re: Seat Leon Noisy Suspension - Honestjohn
If the exhaust system is twisted slightly, a bit of it will hit the rear axle on some bumps. Applies to all Mk II Golf, Jettas, Toledo Mk 1s, plus Ibizas and Polos.

Tell the dealer you are rejecting the car. The longer you drive it around, the harder this is to do. Sounds like they are stalling for time to prevent you being able to reject. Do it in writing, making sure they sign a copy of the letter to say they've recieved it. If you do decide to "give them one more chance" make sure this is in writing too.

Make sure you look like you mean it.

Hmm...but he's had the car 3 months already and is an intermittent noise grounds for rejection - I doubt it!

Quite right Martin.
