Do FTO's have abs as standard? What about air-con? Neither feature seems to get mentioned in adverts on Auto trader. If they don't have it, do they not go all over the place? Still fancy a CLK (posted about them a few weeks ago), but been a bit scared by rust and reliability issues on other forums. Then I saw an FTO this week and started thinking about them again as my Carisma has been so reliable. FTO's are so cheap now, but I wondered if they are practical with two small children, and safety is a worry, though I don't drive fast. I've re-read the old FTO thread and they seem very well-liked, especially by Aprillia - does anyone have an FTO as a daily driver?

Sorry Tintin - whatever you may have heard, you can't make yourself more attractive just by buying a sportscar. You'll have to keep doing your exercises like the rest of us. };---)
(Must be Friday. But we've got a lovely, sunny weekend to look forward to - haven't we?)

Air-con is standard on all but one of the 'special edition' models - I think it was called the 'GPvR' or something like that. There are very few about.
ABS and traction control were available as options. They are rare on pre-'97 cars, but most cars from '98-on would have ABS.
The standard brakes are pretty good, but obviously ABS is a good thing to have.
I think there are plenty in use as everyday cars. They are reliable and nice to drive. Just get one which is rust free and not 'modded' by a boy racer and you'll be happy.

Thanks guys. I've just checked what peachorlemon.com say and - wow - not a bad word about them. One guy gives it 5 lemons but he got the whole peach/lemon thing mixed up. Serious investigation into these required.

Sorry - don't click that link. It only takes it you to the front page, I had forgotten you have to register to get the full reviews.
