I am going to buy my next car tomorrow after about 2 years of pondering about what to get. I will 100% definitely buy it as long as the checks work out OK.
It's a Merc SLK 320 (the old model). Is there a way of verifying the milage with the dealer, i.e. can I call the garage that serviced it (or will they not help due to data protection), or is there a central number I could call at MB for this info?
Also is there an recomended car title check site as there are so many to choose from.
Many Thanks,
Excitedly yours.

an HPI check will tell you if the mileage is consistent.

how does it confirm milage? does that have MOT milages on then or something?
|
the hpi will only pull up a mileage anomoly ,if you want the full service then this takes time as all previous registered owners are contacted.
you can do this yourself if you pay swansea for the details.
Maybe selling dealer has alreaded enacted the process?

I forgot to add that a mercedes is a car that clockers like.
Dont think that the little grey haired ladty that did 5 thousand miles in it in two years is sweet and clean as private punters are the biggest clockers in my opinion

Is there any comeback to a trader for a clocked car?
|
If its been serviced by DB then it will have its mileage on record but that does not stop a high mileage user clocking it it once a year just before its service so easy to do on Mercs.

ring the dealer and ask
A few years ago I looked at a bmw 530d that seemed a good price. did some digging with the dealers that had serviced it and found that by their records the milage went backwards twice. In each case when non-scheduled work was done. (turbo replacement and damaged wheel) all the services showed mileage going up steasily and evenly though.
