Received a letter from Shell Visa (changing from Royal Bank to Citi Bank) in August time.
Part of new Offering to Shell Card Holders is Free Car Legal Cover - I pay nearly £20 for each car so this represents £40 saving - not a lot in running a car but a "fill-up for nothing" beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.
I have no connection with Shell/RBS/Citi other than being a customer

Some of these things aren't worth the paper they're written on though. Five years ago ish, with legal cover on my ins policy, i tried using it when a lorry hit my parked car and despite loads of evidence, the driver denied it.
With 5 grands worth of damage and having to hire a car in the meantime, i needed all the help i could get.
The legal back up from my cover was totally and absolutely useless, total carp..... the ins co. kept referring me to the lawyers, who did zilch. Eventually i got a 1.5 line letter from them, before the end of the shenanigans with the claim, saying there was nothing more they could do for me! Despite ringing them up, they'd not accept any more resonsibility whatsoever...and i had another 18 months worth of wrangling to go after that...followed by increased premiums etc, because although i had some good evidence, the ins co. weren't willing to take it to court.
My biggest problem was they were never acting for me, they were acting for the ins co. who were indifferent and bureaucratic, so it was like banging your head against a wall.
I don't bother paying the extra now for legal expenses, if i ever needed it i'd choose my own solicitor and have him/her acting for me........there's nowt for nowt in this world is there.

The only time I used such a service (it was included free with the car insurance at the time) I not only received considerable help over the phone from a member of the legal team, when the case involving the erring driver came up before the magistrates I had a QC representing me.
I was delighted with the outcome and even more so that it didn't cost a penny.
