Audi variable servicing - Colin M
HJ

I wondered what your respected view was on the new Audi variable service intervals? I just bought an S3 and don't feel comfortable about waiting 2 years or 20k until the first oil change. I average only 6-7k a year. Am I a luddite or is this the way of modern technology?

Colin

PS Great site, singing your praises over on the Audi and import newsgroups.

Dear Colin,

My advice is as always. Leave the factory fill for the first year or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first, then change engine oil, engine oil filter and gearbox oil. After that, change the engine oil every 6 months or every 5,000 - 7,000 miles whichever comes first, mileage depending on whether you are using semi synthetic or 'fully' synthatic oil. Great news about the newsgroupos and Audi site.
