Hi, i have enjoyed reading threads on this forum through links...........i have now registered...........

I appologise if this has been asked previous / i know it has on (VW's),

I have just bought the above car and want a oil / filter change for peace of mind.........i have nearly 10k miles to go B4 nxt service.I rang main agents this morning who said the oil service is roughly £130 and the oil used is Castrol Long life.
I hope someone will steer me in the right direction as what oil is the same standard as the fully synthetic castrol longlife / but lower in cost...

Your car will require BMW Longlife LL01 or LL04 oil, my 2002 320d requires LL01 and I buy Fuchs 0w30 LL01 oil mail order from www.opieoils.co.uk and paid less than £80 for 12 litres delivered, enough for 2 oil changes plus top ups, ie the one you do and you can give the oil to your dealer and save some money there.

Read your handbook and see if you need LL01 or LL04
