Can anybody recommend the best speed trap detector. Are they readily available (I know they are not strictly legal) i.e. not the programmed location type. A battery operated one would be ideal.
Thanks

Why not get a sat nav like a TomTom and download the speed camera locations onto it? You can download mobile and fixed cameras onto it?

Alternatively (and I'm not being pompous) why not try to limit your speed in areas where spped traps are likely to be (30/40/50MPH areas)?

I will admit that I use both methods. Currently, touch wood, I have zero point son my licence but drive 40,000 miles per year.

Thanks for the reply but I have built in SatNav in my car and there does not seem to be a facility to add the Speed Camera info.
I do try to stick to the speed limits but recently "got done" by a Gatso that got "left behind" on completion of a roadworks. The camera has since been removed.

Tom Tom etc systems are all well and good for camera locations which are camera partnership controlled and have to be advertised, but it won't help you when Mr Plod parks in a field entrance behind a tree and points the radar out of his window (Collingham to Harewood Road, Easter Sunday about 5pm!).
