I have fitted a new battery and alternator to my 1998 s60 punto but it does not want to charge the battery. any ideas to solve this problem thank you.

Over slack alternator drive belt.
See if the earthing strap which connects the engine/gearbox to the bodywork is securely connected and sound.
Duff alternator.

Do you mean new alternator or another alternator.
