Are these things supposed to be available yet?
Saw one (top of the range I think) in our local dealers yesterday. Listed at over 12K which seemed a lot!
Tall inside : dinky chrome 'ball' airvents (an idea probably nicked from another manufacturer, I'm sure) Strange 'split' boot arrangements, with a 'false floor' which seemed to be made from very cheap injection moulded plastic.
Glove box lid looked equally 'low rent' and the whole seemed to combine mixed messages as to quality of build materials.
Whilst I was there it seemed that there were at least two other customers complaining about non functioning LCD screens (in the C5?) anyone any knowledge?

Did you read the thread I started on my experience of the C5?
Fair to say other people who had them disagreed, but I found the thing amazingly low quality and plasticky.

If you have 12K to spend on a small car IMO the Mini is the best available.BMW have built a small car which few other manufacturers can match on build quality terms.
The other downside with Citroens is the depreciation. I bet the C5 will follow thw Xantia and C3 the Saxo. Both models suffered ridiculous depreciation from new.
The French have a knack of producing Naff interiors so their just continuing with tradition.

nonsense the yaris is a million percent better than the mini if you spend similar cash and compare like for like

I would agree with you that the Yaris is a great small car but a million percent better ?
I think we can agree to disagree on Mini vs Yaris .
Either of these two cars represent a better purchase than a C3.

Interesting article in Car magazine this month which rated the Honda Jazz above the C3, Fabia and Fiesta. Just goes to show that one person's opinion doesn't mean a thing.

The Mini and Yaris should have less depreciation than the C3.
Once the C3 has become established Citroen will probably offer special deals to bring the price right down to well under £6000 for a basic.
This is what happened to the Saxo and Zsara.
Citroen just wants a bigger market share and will cut prices to do so.

Then again, Citroën do occasionally win in the depreciation stakes.
Back in 2000, warm-hatch enthusiasts were paying the same for a six month old Saxo VTR, give or take a few quid, as the list after cashback for a new one.

The MINI is a sportscar. It is not directly comparable with the Jazz, C3, Yaris, Polo, Ibiza, Fiesta. All except the new Fiesta are road-tested on this site with all the useful information.

Saw a couple of transporters full of C3s on the M3 this morning - looked OK. Think I'll try to hire one next week when I'm in Europe.
