Audi A4 charging problem - gazza175
hi I have had the battery and alternator checked they appear to be ok i have to jump start it if it is left for a period of time
does any body have any ideas what else the problem could be

More info would be useful

A few suggestions

Have you got fuel in the tank
Checked for a spark
Check fuse for fuel pump (common problem on Audi 80's)

Does the car start when jump starting it?

Most likely be a starter motor related problem?

yes the car does start when jump starting it will check out starter motor

How long is "a period of time"? For elderly cars, immobiliser and clock can drain a battery over a couple of weeks, but not over a couple of days.
