A colleague of mine has got a 3 year old T reg Passat TDi 110 estate which has got persisitent poor radio reception. Th dealer has under warranty changed the aerial, coax cable and Gamma radio (for a recon one) but reception in still rubbish, he mainly listens to radio 4. The dealer seems to acknowledge there is a problem but claims there is no solution and later Passats were OK, but refuses to fit a radio from a later Passat. Has anybody else had problems and found a solution??

Gamma radio in my 97R saloon had very good FM reception - the RDS/EON changed frequencies when reception became poor. (S reg A4 was a lot worse, loosing Radio 4 totally on a particular stretch near Membury on M4).
AM reception though was very poor - Radio 5 was often unlistenable to - my VW dealer managed to remove some interference but acknowledged that the Gamma is set up for FM to the detriment of AM.

I think there were similar problems discussed on vwvortex.com (b5 forum) and clubb5.com
