Had the water pump & timing belt changed on my picnic last week (97, 2.0 petrol). Battery off for a while, now I have what the handbook describes as service lights on the dash.
Had the service done approx 3k ago, so should not need doing....
The lights are the oil level & handbrake light. These are on full.
Any ideas on how to reset these? The newer models you can reset by holding the trip counter, but this does not seem to work :(
Oil level fine.. Handbrake fine (in fact the light goes slightly dimmer when handbrake off, so the switch is working)
Help..... please

Handbrake light often doubles up as a low brake fluid level warning on a lot of cars. Is the brake fluid level ok?

The relevant fluid appear to be where they should be..
The oil is on the max level at the dipstick and the oil pressure light stays off.
The brake fluid is just below the max limit, but way above the min.

If a garage did the work, then surely it's their responsibility to put the lights out again, presuming taking the battery off was part of the dismantling required?

My thoughts exactly. Going back in tomorrow to get it cleared, but it is annoying to say the least when on the newer ones, you can reset them by using the trip meter.
