OK..........

I primed alarm with key fob, then took off the battery so I could work on replacing head gasket.

Two days later put on battery alarm kept on going off. Tried using fob to turn it off....nothing. tried re-synching fob with alarm...........nothing.

Tried yesterday morning....now alarm dont go off just flashing led's in the door and no led in the dash.

Put key in ignition and just get the bleeping from the imobilser.

Also noticed that central locking is not working even when I use the key in the drivers door.

I checked all of the fuses, under bonnet/under drivers dash. All were ok. I checked earth from batery to chasis, took off and cleaned put back still no go.

Does anyone have any ideas???

have you got the key access code? It sounds like you need the remote recoding

I have just noticed that I can arm/unarm the alarm with the passengers door key but not wih the drivers side.
It could be the drivers side switches are damaged. Ill try and get the lock out tommorow and have a look.
Has anyone else come across this???

if the immobiliser is bleeping with the key on pos 2 the remote needs coding, the only way to get around this is to put the key access code into the drivers door switch. You've had the battery disconnected for a long period of time so the coding has been lost.

The problem is that I will not be able to put in the EKA code as the drivers door switches dont seem to be working.
This could be why the key does not register because the door switches have to be in a certain state when the alarm is initialised.

Ill get the door switches out tommorow and have a look.

The battery was only disconnected for two days!!

Plimmy,

With the battery connect on the vehicle so it has power, but make sure the car is unlocked ... take the key fob and open it up and remove the battery ... with the battery out then press both buttons 4 times together .. (it re-sets a counter in the fob) then put the battery back in the fob and press the lock button 4 times and fingers crossed it should have sorted itself out ...

just seems strange the CDL has stopped working on the drivers door at the same time .. check the connector between the door and the main body of the vehicle .. they sometimes work loose ..
