Guys,
I have an 04 Astra 1.6 SXI which is giving me a major headache, the car was driving fine until yesterday after which the vehicle refused to start, it will turn over but apart from that I am getting absoulutely nothing, I therefore:
Checked that power is going to the spark plugs - it is.
Checked the fuel pump - No power was going to the fuel pump
I then bridged the fuel pump relay and the fuel pump ran OK (didn't try starting the car in case I damaged anything)
From this I concluded (rightly or wrongly) that either the fuel pump relay is not working or the relay is not receiving a signal from the ecu to "switch on" the relay and allow power to run to the pump.
I was wondering if this "switch on" signal to the relay is given by the ecu immobiliser, I have no mil lights or other warning lights coming up on the dashboard.
I have tried programming the key using the vauxhall ignition..press key few times etc.
Does anybody have any ideas??
Any help would be much appreciated.

Very unlikely to be the immobiliser.Does the yellow mil light illuminate with ignition on?Pressing the buttons on the key with ignition on only re initialises the remote to the cdl system.this has no effect on the immobiliser system.Poosible problem could be crankshaft ,sensor but diagnostic kit will be needed to verify this.

2004? Is it not still under the 3 year warranty?

If you've got ignition,it is unlikely to be immobilizer;more likely something in the power feed to the pump. Relay??
