Are you saying you've replaced all that but not a £3 rotor arm?
I change the cheap bits first if theres any chance they could be dodgy.

i took the car to the garage, he says that it is difficult to trace the fautt, a lot of time will be spent, i might just change the rotor arm, oldman after i changed the distributor cap and replaced all the bits it was running very smooth, i just changed the rotor arm and see if that makes the difference.
just replaced the rotor arm the old one was gone, the mechanic also mentioned that it may need some ignition timing and also mentioned another problem that the igntion coil may need replacing, i let you know if the problem has been vanished if not then it either need timing or another part ie the ignition coil needs replacing.
Well after replacing the rotor arm it still cut off, the car would nt start after a few minutes started up, there is also smell of sulphur, or rotten eggs, could it be a fuel supply or breathing problem?
A total stab in the dark here,
The smell of of sulphur, or rotten eggs is caused by the catalytic converter doing it's work. If however the cat is blocked (or partially blocked / collapsed) or you're not using low sulphur petrol, I've read elsewhere that you'll get an increased smell.
In short, is the exhaust blocked?

before you spend any more money on "probably items" why not cut your loses spend the £45.00 on a diagonistic engine report and pin point this problem?? you can go on and on replacing parts. good luck
will try the engine diagnostic report is that the standard fee that vauxhall charge, let you know what came up thanks for your help
did the following to the car first engine flush and oil and filter change from national, fuel filter replaced, the mechanic noticed the middle piece of the exhaust need replacing as it blowing so got that done too, but still it cuts off AARGh!!
Another thing with the downpour of the rain the car stalled twice which it never did, someone mentioned could be ignition coil or the carburettor needs a good clean any ideas HELP!!
have you had the engine diagnostic done??
vauxhall quoted £70 for the diagnostic bit steep for me will it show up if the fault does not show up ?
Diagnostic equipment for your car isn't limited to Vauxhall. Phone around some local independants for a quote.
I take it the ECU light isn't or hasn't come on?
early vauxhalls you can flash the codes yourself using a paperclip and the onboard ecu light,
www.topbuzz.co.uk/info/fault_codes/fault_codes.pdf
should give you a pdf file saying how to do it

no dave the ecu light does not come on also the rear wiper not working too must be interconnected
sajid,
in which case book into any competent independant garage for a tune up using one of the many different engine tuning systems. eg, Krypton, Sun, etc.
will do, dave also i opened the fuse box underneath the dash, found some of the fuses bit loose, so i just pressed them in, now the car has not cut off will let you if it does cut off, and book it for a engine diagnostic, thanks a lot for your helpful comments
