Hi all, i'm writing this on behalf of my girlfriend and i'm hoping someone can help us out here.
Right here goes, we had to replace the drivers side lock and we successfully did that but when it came to putting it all back together the lock is very loose when you view it from the outside/insert key.
We tried everything to tighten it up from the inside but we are at a complete loss.
The car goes in for it's MOT next week so we really need to sort this.
Any help is very much appreciated.
Thanks.

Not sure if this helps but this is what we are having trouble with we think.

We can't get the plate to secure the lock on the inside.

the outer wheel tightens the lock, if youve bust it i suggest you buy a new one at the dealers ,you put the lot over the door lock and the use a screwdriver to tap it round it only goes on one way make sure its up to the doorskin and then its tap clockwise
it wont fail an mot for no door lock

Hi oldman, thanks for the reply.
I'm pretty sure it's all still intact, it seems as it was.
I'm guessing the outer wheels is the one with the 3 like little hook type thingies, not very technical but you get what i mean i hope.
Thanks for the oither thread my me! i was looking for that.

Doorlocks are not MOT part.

I realise it won't matter regards the MOT - spoke to a mechanic who also mentioned it but obvouisly it would be safer put back correctly.
Oilman, we got this far thanks to your advice on the other thread, so thanks go to you as you saved the Mrs £100+
