Anyone have any opinions on a Seat Arosa 1.4 Manual? (T-Reg)
Cost to run/ repair etc?
I've been looking at a 106 but a Arosa has come up nearby!
Thanks

A friend bought the top-of-the-range sporty model new several years ago, is very happy with it and has no intention of selling. The only problem he had was accidental damage to the exhaust system, followed by a bodged repair by a bunch of Spanner Controllers using the wrong part and therefore damaging the lambda sensor in the process (cutting it off, not mild damage). . . hence an MOT failure, and thus the job had to be redone with the correct part.

Take a look at the crash tests at www.euroncap.com - there is no 106 test but there is one for the Citroen Saxo (basically the same car). Compare that with the Lupo result and think about it...
My daughter has a Treg 1.0 litre Lupo - great interior space and comfort, tiny boot but just big enough for family weekend supermarket shop. 1.4 should be much better (though thirstier).
Problems in last 2 years: corrosion pin hole developed in fuel filter under the boot and the lights-on warning buzzer stopped (haven't got round to following up BR suggestions yet). Battery and rear box replacement would probably happen to any car around that age.

Should also have pointed out there is no Arosa crash test but the Lupo is basically the same; check that the Arosa has an airbag (was an option on the 1.0, not sure on the 1.4)
