T reg. 149,00 miler was running great till it cut-out pulling 2,000 rpm. The motor was hot at the time and re-started easily. Tickover is smooth but won't rev up now. with my foot on the accelerator the motor starts to run a bit rough and stays on tickover. Very hard to start if left overnight, black smokes for 5 minutes then clears and ticks over smoothly. Help

I emphasise that I am no expert but if you are not getting the Engine management light coming on I wonder if you may have the same problem as I did with my company Vectra which was running very sluggish.
After much replacement of MAF and pressure sensors etc at great cost the problem was cured by replacing the blocked catalytic converter .
Sounds like you have similar symptoms but I could be wrong.I'm sure an expert will be along in a minute.
