I need a fuel pump capable of flowing enough for a 1.9 gti engine out of a 205. But its not in a 205 and needs to be exteranlly mounted, not an in tank type. Also must be a common car. Im hoping to get one from a scrapyard.
Hopefully someone will know of one or two worth trying.
thanks

Thankfully, your work is greatly eased by the fact that most fuel injection systems recycle much more fuel than is actually injected.
For example, the fuel pump and filter for a 1990 Nova GTE is remarkably similar to the fuel pump and filter for a 3.0 24v Senator!

I know, this is why Im confident any 2.0 petrol pump will work if externally mounted.

volvo 700 or 900 series have an electric pump under the car which would do your job ,there is a filter there also.

sweet, I just found a 940 pump which looks bang on for the job. Trip to the breakers tomorrow I think.

They also rely on an in-tank pump to back up the main pump.
A common symptom on Volvos was poor fuel delivery when the tank is below half because of failure of the in-tank pump. The main pump then has to struggle harder, and often fails as a consequence.

Many K-Jetronic equipped cars had external fuel pumps.
