Views on 2.4 Accord Type S-05 plate - Halmer

I've seen a mint one in a local garage at <£15k with 11,000 miles on the clock in black. Half leather and really nice. Admit I was originally looking for a 2.0 sport or SE but this has really caught my eye and I'm tempted.

Maybe able to get a bit more off the price based on the conversation but it seems fairly low anyway to me.

Am I taking on something that I shouldn't?

I drive an Oct 05 2.4 Type S and it is absolutely the best car I have driven. The level of engineering gone into the car is beyond anything else I tested - (A4, 3 series and IS200).
It has plenty of poke in any gear and motor way cruising in 6th is effortless.
My experience of dealers is also good.

In my view - go for it - at least test drive it.

I have road tested a 2.4 Accord and was very impressed. Your buying decision is centred around whether you want max performance or economy over the 2.0 litre.

The 2.4 has unquestionably more low end torque, but you are losing out to 7 to 8 mpg and higher depreciation, hence the keen price. I have short listed the Accord for my next motor, but for me the 2.0 litre wins on fuel economy and depreciation grounds.!!!!

I've got a '03 Type-S and I've never regretted it. Since I've bought it it's always returned over 34mpg. Servcing costs are no worse than my old 2.0SE - the 37,500 is around £180. Admittedly the depreciation isn't good, but it's unlikely to break down so you can run it for a good few years.
