Vito 04 111 CDI - Fuel consumption poor - t29sab
hi i have a new shape 04 plate merc vito 111 cdi compact van and i am having trouble with the fuel consumption as it is only doing 26-27 to the gallon @.91p per litre and 370 miles to £60.00 of diesel and that is either on the motorway or around town does anyone own a new vito with this fuel consumption or does that sound ok,i look forward to your views

I would've thought it should return better than that: my sprinter 416 CDI does between 25 and 30 to the gallon. It's significantly heavier (probably 750kgs), has a longer wheelbase, higher profile and six wheels in contact with the ground.

No experience of the new vito but my V220Cdi that was based on the old 112 vito would do 32mpg solo and 25mpg towing.
If you are carrying heavy loads or materials on the roof this would make an impact.
I had upsolute chip mine which made an unbelievable improvement
in performance and economy.

Hope your new vito isnt as much a lemon as the old vito/v-class

thanks for all your messages and i will drop it in at mb and get them to reset ecu , also i will be putting a tunning box on it purley for a bit more fuel econ, but which one i dont no, any recommendations.

I've has 2 vans chipped by upsolute www.upsolute.com. Their agen will do the job at home or work. cost was about £300
