Inexpensive Rental Car? - JanetS
I'm travelling from Canada to England next month with my husband and children for a family gathering.

I'm trying to make this as inexpensive as is possible.

We will likely be renting a car. I fear if we just book something at the airport, we would likely pay a premium rate. Is it possible to pick up a car at the airport (likely arriving Heathrow, departing Gatwick) that is not from the more major expensive agencies?

It is possible to get from Heathrow to Gatwick by coach which might suit you if you don't have too much luggage.

Janet,

Do not pick up a car from the majors at the airport they will charge you an arm and a leg.

There are many cheaper firms out there and most will delver/pick up from Heathrow/Gatwick.

I would highly recommend Kendall's.

You might also want to check out car hire firms in Staines which is the town closest to the airport.
