Can any one tell me where the fuel filter is located on a citroen xantia 18.i and how to go about changing it, cheers

Under the rear of the car, on the RH(drivers side) of the fuel tank. It is clamped in place with a bolt. You have to drop it clear, then de-pressurise the system, undo the pipe clips on the old one, remove the pipes and replace the filter.
Note which way round the filter has to go.(should be marked with an arrow).
You may find that you will need new jubilee clips for the pipes, the ones fitted may be the cut to remove type.
I have always got a good supply of rag ready and de-pressurised the system by taking a pipe off. I will point out that this is not the safest way to do it, but not much fuel does come out. Leaving the car overnight helps to reduce the pressure.
Make sure the car is well supported before going underneath it, they ain't half heavy!
