I'm interested in buying a SAAB 900 convertable the old model last of the proper SAABs purely as a summer leasure vehicle i've owned a few classic cars in the past but i'm finding less & less time to tinker (also less incalnation to tinker!) so want something more modern that i can jump in and go i've always fancied one of these with their individual looks. Also on my list is the Audi 80 Cabriolet same as princess Di's
Basic quetion what should i look for on either model ie where do they rust and any mechanical weak spots.
Any help would be appreciated

Saab - very wobbly with roof down and with roof up!! Usual Saab foibles inc unreliability.
Audi - heavy but very well built and should last for ever. Not fast, unless you get a V6.

Espada III - well if you have a family and need a Lamborghini, what else do you drive?

on the saab I assume you mean the classic 900 not the gm900. One of my neighbours has a 900 turbo convertable (its on an H plate) which they use everyday, lots of saabs this age - and i guess all the convs - have heated seats. the engines are almost bulletproof although electrics can be tricky if they have the ignition units.
characterful cars. the audi is fine if a bit bland/slow unless you get a big engine.
differnt sorts of cars to my mind. the saab is an older style and design, the audi is much more modern imho. (i'd have the saab)
