hello, Anyone out there had the same problem as me?

Warning light appearing on dash, dealer says fluid low in the particulate trap. The only remedy is to re-new, at a COST of £300.00

This was Citroen's way of meeting the new particulate regulations;they use a special chemical to regenerate the particulate trap;other manufacturers will cause the engine to run in a particular(no pun) cycle to regenerate it but not use a special(and expensive)chemical.

Probably a daft question but do you have the 2.2 Hdi as this is the only engine in the Mk.1 C5 range with a particulate filter.

I only ask as most Citroen dealers can't find their bottoms with both hands!

If you do a search on here there has been quite a lot of discussion on this subject.
