I'm wondering if anyone can offer any advice on my problem.
I own two cars a nice cheap Clio diesel which is completly standard that i do about 20k a year in and a Williams Clio with a list of modifications as long as your alarm including a roll cage. The thing is I use the Williams for track days but I would like the oportunity since its road legal to drive it on the road ever now and again and to test it before track days.
However going for two policies is my only option it seems and thats £2k which I'm fed up of paying.
I looked at a policy which would let me drive other cars 3rd party but they have all now removed this or you have to be over 25 (I'm 23).
The modified car insurance companies won't cover the Williams for just one off days as it so high an insurance group.
I found a company who do 1 day policies but they won't cover modified cars.
Also I have a trailer for the Williams and my parents car to tow with it but there insurer will only cover me for a few times a year so adding this car to my own policy when I need to tow the Williams would be handy.
Has anyone any recomendations of what I can do?

Try running your requirements through an INSURANCE BROKER as opposed to an Insurance Company direct.

Brokers indeed.
As a suggestion, contact www.adrianflux.co.uk , a specialist broker that made their good name in motorsport and now have a special vehicles side to their operation.
When I tuned my V70 none of the direct boys would touch me, but through Adrian Flux I not only have the cover I sought but the premium is not a lot more than I was paying for the standard car. My policy is underwritten by NU and they were straightforward and easy to deal with; I filled in a form that explained the modifications, it was sent away to their risk assessors, and the quote came back.

I've had experiances with Adrian flux as there my present insurer and they won't cover the car now it has a roll cage.
They won't cover the car 3rd party on its own or as an extra on the policy as it has the roll cage.
ALso they are terriable with payout out a friend crashed his Clio with a load of declared modification and he is now seriously out of pocket after the experiances and terriable payout.
Even there specialist broker HIC who will insure roll cages won't cover the car as a second car they want a whole new policy.

Hi there. I've got a slightly modified Golf VR6 and know of a number of highly modified golf VR6's insured through Brentacre insurance. My policy states that I can have a roll cage (insured with ensign).
Give them a call, I found them to be very well informed with excellent customer service.
You can get them on 01792 650933

You may well already know this, but DOC cover only ever covered vehicles that you *don't* own. Even if you fiddled it by changing the V5 into someone else's name, they'd figure out it was still really your vehicle, especially if there was a big claim from a 3rd party.
