powetrain components - bob
just a quick question:

has anyone used powertrain brake discs, and if so, are they good, bad, or indifferent? is it worth paying slighty extra for a lucas disc?

also mintex pads or powertain pads?

it seems that several nationwide motor factors (partco, brown brothers, etc) sell them...

any advice gratefully received.

cheers

bob.
Re: powetrain components - Tony
Have used plenty of powertrain pads and a few discs and nobody has complained so i guess they do the job.All on ordinary cars-nothing exotic.

Also buy lots of Powertrain, been doing so today actually. They do have their weaker products but you have to make up your own mind on price vs quality. Same as many things in life.

Having said that never had a problem on their discs and happily buy them unless owners want to specify, and pay for, OE or Lucas etc.

Had a couple of out of true discs which went back to the retailer.

Otherwise, fine.

I use Powertrain timing belts. Any horror stories?
