I have an intermitent fault, when driving and applying the foot brake, the warning lights on the instrument panel for ABS and TC light up and will not go out till the engine is switched off. Sometimes the fault happens two or three times a day, sometimes i can drive for three weeks with no fault. Garage suggests it might be a faulty brake pedal switch. Has anyone had this fault an can help.

The fault should be stored on the ABS TC computer. Vauxhall should be able to diagnose it with 'TECH@ equipment. Sounds likely it is a faulty brake light switch but next time it happens check that the brake light bulbs are actually illuminating as a blown bulb or bulbs will trigger a fault.

I took the car to my Vauxhall dealer with the light on. The computor showed that there was no fault just that the lights were on. I have not yet checked whether the brake light bulbs are illuminating. Thanks for your suggestion. Dave
